After 2 month when you can pre order this intuitive normal-mapping plug-in for Photoshop, now is finally out. nDo2 is created by three former games artists. nDo2 is built from the ground up, fully integrated into Adobe Photoshop, and able to generate normal in real-time. Users have an option to view 3D previews of the maps directly in Photoshop. It auto-loads your maps and instantly renders your tweaks. nDo2 allows bringing out any volume from your source photo (subtle, sharp or huge) with unrivalled accuracy.

Marga Sardà, a producer from Barcelona-based studio Dvein, talks more about how RealFlow's organic workflow allowed them to create the stunning opening credits for new Spanish movie "EVA". „The ramifications and the geometry of [this project] were especially challenging, and also preparing every shot for the render. The only way to overcome all this was by trying out different ideas over and over again, until we were happy with the result.“ 

TopoRelax modifier for 3DsMax

TopoRelax modifier for 3DsMaxMarius Silaghi released a new modifier for Autodesk 3DsMax to provide an alternative to the default modifier „Relax“ in 3DsMax which changes the apparent surface tension in a mesh by moving vertices closer to, or away from, their neighbours. The typical result is that the object gets smoother and a little smaller as the vertices move toward an averaged centre point. TopoRelax relaxes meshes while preserving their volume unlike the normal relax modifier which shrinks the mesh, so you don’t have to worry about losing the volume of your mesh.

Filter Forge 3.0 is out

Procedural texture-generation tool Filter Forge 3.0 has finally shipped after a lengthy period in beta. For those who are not yet familiar with Filter Forge, it's a versatile 2D procedural texturing tool that works both as a standalone app and as a Photoshop plugin and lets you generate resolution-independent seamless textures with bump, diffuse and normal maps with resolutions up to 65000x65000 pixels. This new version brings support for multiple source images, revamped user interface, improved preview interactivity, new amazing filters, and much more.
