E-on software has announced the new features of its Vue 10 product line-up, due to start shipping in November. The new release will have a number of new features and enhancements, including spline and road tools, a new rock technology, streamlined terrain editing, a physical water shading engine as well as improvements in rendering performance. The new product line has been built around the same three-tiered structure as previous versions; Vue 10 for CG professionals, 3D Artists and 3D enthusiasts. Each package offers the products best suited to each level of expertise. 

Interview with Bob Bennett from Luxology

Bob Bennett is a well-known veteran of the 3D software industry, having worked on 3D Studio, Maya and now modo®.  Currently he is in charge of marketing at Luxology. The interview is about him, Luxology and also about modo®, the artist-friendly 3D software that combines modeling, sculpting, painting, animation and rendering in a fused workflow. Autodesk releases Project Geppetto crowd simulator

Autodesk Labs has released Project Geppetto, its experimental new crowd simulation system for 3ds Max. Geppetto is a data-driven animation system that offers high level control of plausible human motion. Creating and editing Geppetto crowds is done using simple geometric shapes and paths. It comes with a set of animations for use in common settings like sidewalks, hallways, lobbies and plazas. Architects, engineers and designers can use this project to enrich the context of their presentations with realistic human activity. 

RealFlow in action: „Morphing Water" - by FANATICFLUIDS

Carlos Pardo from FANATICFLUIDS talks about how he used RealFlow Standard Emitters and the RealFlow Render Kit V2 for Meshing in his last work. When he wants to complete his project, he must to face a problem of morphing water. It means how to change water from a droplet, into letters, finishing in the shape of a bottle and generating all the different high resolution meshes of the project from just ONE particle simulation. Solving this he commented by following words:
