Economic crisis hit many sectors of industry. But there are some companies, which are doing well. Some days ago Intel presented their revenue and profit. This week announced quarter results also AMD. According to their press release AMD reported revenue for the third quarter of 2011 of $1.69 billion, net income of $97 million, or $0.13 per share, and operating income of $138 million.  The company reported non-GAAP net income of $110 million, or $0.15 per share, and non-GAAP operating income of $146 million. 

Maxon announced today immediately availability of a new plugin for Adobe® After Effects® CS5 and CS5.5 that allows motion graphics artists to export projects directly into Cinema 4D R13. According to Maxon this new plugin will allow the domination of Cinema 4D’s as the industry-leading 3D motion graphics toolkit with seamless connectivity to popular 2D motion graphics and compositing tools. The export using the new plugin will appear directly inside After Effects® containing 3D layers, cameras, lights, solids, nulls and footage. All major layer attributes are included in the export including animations (rotation, position, parameter, anchor points, POI, etc.).

Sustained monsoon rain has led to unusually heavy flooding in Thailand; a situation which is likely to have a major impact on the worldwide supply of hard disks. The country, which is the world’s second largest hard disk exporter, plays home to many manufacturing plants belonging to the world’s biggest storage companies.

Western Digital Corp. the world’s largest HDD manufacturer in terms of volume, has 37,000 workers in Thailand, and production in the country accounts for 60 percent of the company’s total capacity. Toshiba employs about 3,900 workers in Thailand, and approximately 50 percent of the company’s manufacturing capacity is in the country.
