The particle system completely redefines fluid, rigid body and particle F/X simulation and has been used for the latest movies like Thor, Sucker Punch and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

L3Deformer & L3Library Update

Lightstorm3D will release this week new updates, which take L3Deformer to version  v1.0.1 and L3Library to version v1.0.3. This update will free of charge.

In L3Deformer v1.0.1 they started to replace more Maya API classes and methods with their own technology that supports multithreading. Performance of texture and curve deformer has been increased.

In Cg caustic can be generated using a render engine supporting Global Illumination, this will however raise your render time from minutes to hours. Allegorthimc used Substance to create a real-time dynamic and animate able caustics map which can be used to fake caustic generated from a pool or ocean. This map can save you hours of render time and the end result is really impressive.
