3D Creative #87 is out

modelingLast issue of 3D Creative is again full loaded of interesting tutorials. Amazing cover picture is created by Andrew Hickinbottom. It represents a part one of a brilliant new tutorial series called pin-up girls. In this series Andrew will cover modeling, UV'ing, texturing, lighting, creating the background and post-production. Andrew kicks things off in this chapter by talking us through the modeling of his character ‘Olivia’, who beautifully graces the cover.

Beginner's Guide to Modeling Vehicles tutorial series brings another amazing part. This time two talented artists will be using the 2D concept and technical drawings provided, to talk us through a step-by-step guide to turning this information into an accurate and exciting 3D model. While Renato Gonzalez Aguilante illustrates the process in Maya, Arturo Garcia continues modeling in 3ds Max.

Thinkbox Software launches free video-editing app

modelingThinkbox Software today launched Cinelab, a new video-editing app for Windows 8 devices. Cinelab delivers simple, on-the-go video editing capabilities directly from any supported tablet, mobile device or desktop computer.

Thinkbox founder Chris Bond set out to design an easy-to-use editing app that would enable people of any skill level to trim and cut together clips, and share them directly from Windows 8 devices. Using a very simple touch interface, users can rearrange clips by moving them around on screen, tap them to play, and shorten the length by moving handles on a bar directly beneath the clip. Rearranged and trimmed clip sequences can be shared via SkyDrive and email.
