Krakatoa used for smoke FX in commercial

modeling

Italian advertising agency, Lab81, was responsible for the art direction and realisation of this spot promoting the casual RubberSoul trainers from OXS. The team used a combination of tools from After Effects, Maya, Houdini and Krakatoa to complete the project. “The most technically impressive aspect of the project was realisation of the fluids, which we achieved using Think Box Software’s Krakatoa. After Effects was also vital as it pieced everything together, assembled the various frames and brought out all the shades of colour that characterise the entire video,” says Lab81 art director Valentino Bedini.
