
A first Release Candidate for Blender 2.61 has just been released. Two weeks ago we informed you about releasing Beta testing. If everything goes according to plan, the final release should be next week. But for this time, let us sumarize, what you can expect from 2.61RC1. In this version have been many new features added and also 117 bugs have been fixed. New features in Blender 2.61 include integrated motion tracking for video footage, the new Cycles renderer, dynamic paint (turn objects into paintbrushes), Ocean Sim and export to Adobe After Effects and many more.

The December issue of 3D Artist is already released. Issue 36 of the magazine contains 35 pages of step-by-step guides covering a range of styles and 3D software. The magazine also comes packaged with two free gifts: the first ever 3D Artist calendar and a disc packed full of resources. R&D group has started VRayScatter for Maya beta test. VRayScatter for Maya - is a new product which brings VRayScatter and MultiScatter functionality into Maya environment.
Ginger HDR has released tonemapping plugin for After Effects CS3.0+ and Premiere 5.0+, in open beta. Ginger HDR is follower of Natural HDR. They changed name because of business and legal reasons. This plugin allow to users to adjust colour and light levels in footage without landing. Ginger HDR website provides you some useful tutorials on how to use the parameters. The Open Beta goes until 8th of January and is available only for Windows until now.
