Recently haggis visual effects & animation released a script which allows the users of Autodesk Maya 2012 to export they work into Houndinis Mantra standalone render engine and so use the advantage of this powerful renderer. The exporter should support as much features as possible directly out of Maya. To this day a working Alpha release is out supporting Windows only and Autodesk Maya 2012. The Alpha release is supporting so far just the basics function such as Sampling, Depth of Filed and some more and a lot of features have to be done in the future. The gallery below shows the exporter in action.
Features so far supported:
- - Sampling
- - Motionblur (transform and geometric)
- - Depth of field
- - Export maya geometry to geo/bgeo files
- - Supported Geometry: Nurbs, Meshes
- - Pointlights, AreaLights, DirectionalLights, SpotLights, no shadowmaps yet.
- - Specular and diffuse only lighting
- - Render meshes as subdivision surfaces
- - Basic Shading
- - Instances
