Digital 3D Models offers ZBrush assets for free

zbrushZBrush artists have now special possibility to download free assets from digital3dmodels.com. The Free Materials section of Digital 3D Models includes a start-up scene with a custom sculpting material, and a detailed human skull in ZTL format. This new site of artist Nick Zuccarello also offers some of his ZBrush models for sale. Commercial models on sale include three alien characters and a human male figure in five different body types, all available for the very reasonable price of $10 a piece.

ZBrush 4R2 released

Zbrush PixologicPixologic released a new version of their world leading digital sculpting software ZBrush 4R2 for Windows and Mac OS. ZBrush changed the way of CG industry bringing the possibilities of „hand“ sculpting and painting into digital world. Pixologic included into the new version a lot of new features from which the most interesting is DynaMesh, the new base mesh generator, will allow you to realize your concepts via a workflow that ignores the traditional geometry barrier.

Both of these have a number of display and rendering improvements, including support for subsurface scattering, support for vertex weight maps and an updated OpenGL display.
