cebas releases thinkingParticles 5

modelingcebas Visual Technology Inc. delivers more choices than anyone else for 3ds Max. By integrating industry standard physics solvers, such as; the Bullet Physics Library alongside its own proprietary systems, thinkingParticles 5 becomes the first tool to deliver 3 physics solvers in one product. This gives users the choice and flexibility to work with any or all of the 3 inpidual physics solvers at the same time in the same scene.

A novelty by description – Release 5 introduces, for the first time ever, a dedicated true soft body rope and vehicle dynamics system that is purely procedural. Special effects like tearing ropes or cables, cars driving in a city or a forensic crash simulation - all this can now be done with one affordable and powerful special effects tool.

There are also a lot of smaller features, including a new ‘egg timer’ node to control nonlinear animations, plus the usual performance enhancements. Cebas claims that redraw speed in the Nitrous viewport is now 30-100 times faster than with thinkingParticles 4.

thinkingParticles 5 is compatible with 3dsMax versions 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010. thinkingParticles 4 owners can order their update online for a reduced price. Users who purchased thinkingParticles 4 after April 27th, 2012 qualify for cebas’ free upgrade to thinkingParticles 5. ThinkingParticles 5 is available now for €1,495.
