Also this Sunday we focused on VFX in recently released movies. This time portal Art of VFX made an interview with Eric Robinson, who is a product manager in Mr. X and asked him about part of Mr. X on Three Musketeers. Robinson`s team (100 peoples) was responsible for creating seamless set extensions and entirely digital environments., e.g. the Notre Dame roof fight sequence. Especially for this sequence team created a CG replica of Notre Dame and the surrounding 360 degrees vantage point of Paris below.
Surely interesting is that the model of the cathedral covered 17 million polygons. Mr. X also participated on creating air ships and also on creating the big storm in the air battle. The balloon on the Cardinal’s airship had over 60 4k textures. The final poly count was in the 50 million ranges. If you want more about their 15 month long work, read full interview by following link at the end of article.
